Beretta M12 SMG

The Beretta PM12 submachine gun, originating in the 1950s and officially introduced in 1959, falls into the category of "Pistola Mitragliatice," or machine pistol. Adopted by the Italian Army, special forces, and law enforcement in 1961, this compact weapon boasts a stamped steel construction with minimal moving parts and a tubular receiver. Despite seeming uncomplicated, the PM12 was actually costly to manufacture.

Operated through blowback and firing 9×19 mm Parabellum rounds, it offers stable, accurate performance, equipped with simple iron sights and a forward grip for added stability during firing. Featuring an automatic grip safety and various safety mechanisms, the PM12 accommodates 20-, 32-, or 40-round magazines and can be complemented with accessories such as a flashlight integrated into the foregrip.

Although considered outdated in comparison to modern standards due to its weight, this sturdy and reliable submachine gun remains in service in Italy and several other countries.
